My wife Marilyn and I bought our first Labrador in 1971 a super yellow dog who we called Max, unfortunately due to an accident Max only lived to be six years old, We then purchased two yellow males Rafferty and Sunny, Rafferty unfortunately turned out to be displastic, but Sunny was great. Around this time we purchased our first yellow bitch Cassie looking back we think she was half Lab half Golden with quite a wavy coat.

It was after this that one of our friends who showed Smooth Collies said Sunny looked good enough to show so off we went to some open shows won some rosettes and we were bitten by the show bug. After a while watching at the ringside and going to more shows we realized that what we had was not really the top quality for showing.

It was in 1979 that we purchased Follytower Blythe from Margot Woolly a beautiful black bitch that went on to win her junior warrant 1 c.c. 1 r.c.c. , It was about a year later that we were lucky enough to have another black bitch Follytower Kristy from Mrs. Woolly and she was a real extrovert   show girl, she became our first Champion winning 3 c.c.  And 9 r.c.c. . Around this time we purchased our first chocolate Lindall Mollie Malone from Mr. & Mrs. Porter she was the foundation of our chocolate line. The main one being Sh.Ch.Boothgates Kountry Kurio who was our once in a lifetime Lab she was a real extrovert in the ring and a real show girl she won  9 c.c  7 with best of Breed and 5 r.c.c she still holds the record in the u.k for a Chocolate.

In our time with the Labs we have had some really lovely experiences but you also have some heartache with lots of things that can go wrong but the longer you do it the more you see and learn and hope to make better what a lovely and wonderful breed we own.

We still have a great love for the Breed and have made so many good friends all round the world when Judging in Sweden, Holland. Germany. Switzerland Belgium. Finland Brazil France Czech Republic Estonia  Portugal  Japan. Spain,. Norway. America. Canada.Russia. And Ireland and of course our own u.k..
